A. If the two are friendly and getting along, then just monitoring their activity is best. If either dog gets too excited or rough, then a short "time out" of separation may help to calm them down and resume more comfortable play. If you are concerned about them when unable to monitor them (such as leaving the house), then keeping them in separate rooms or separate crates is best until you are sure they will get along safely.
