Q. My dog has runny nose and got sick on rug, yellow mucus with grass and what he ate for dinner. Should this yellow mucus be a concern?

A. It sounds as though he had bile mixed with the grass. It is not uncommon for a dog to eat grass. It may be an attempt to self cure a stomach problem or could be he needs extra fiber in his diet or he's just bored. Not all dogs tolerate grass well and will vomit it back up. The runny nose may be due to an infection or allergies. If the nasal discharge is clear I wouldn't be too concerned but yellow or green warrants a visit to the vet.
