Q. My dog has red eyes and I have been washing them to try and help. It's very hot and dry were I live, could this be the cause?

Answered By

A. Heat on it' s own can cause a bit of congestion especially in certain dog breeds. It could also be related to some substances in the air that can act as irritants. If it is something like that , it should resolve on its own as the temperature comes down. If you are concerned please see your vet, as it could also be something else requiring eye medications.

Answered By

A. If your dogs eyes are red there are several possible underlying issues including conjunctivitis, a cornea ulcer, an infection in the eyes or an allergic response. I would recommend scheduling an appointment with your veterinarian so that proper medication can be prescribed.
