Q. How much puppy food should a weimarainer puppy eat at 8weeks old?

Answered By

A. As someone else said, you should check the back of the food bag. However, many different kinds of kibble encourage overeating in order to sell more product, so typically I will take the "recommended" amount and take a little bit out of it. If my puppy is acting really hungry, licking the floors, whining, then I will give them a little extra next time. It's all about finding the balance for you. Make sure you are feeding according to the "for puppies" recommendation. Also, you should be feeding high quality. Taste of the Wild, Orijen, and Merik are very popular brands. I feed Ziwipeak. If you're interested in an air-dried raw food diet that is great for your pup, Google Ziwipeak. It is quite pricey, but I believe it is worth the price.

A. It depends on the food. Look at the bag of food you purchased and there will be a feeding chart. Make sure you purchased a high quality high protien food. Examples are, blue buffalo, merik, natural balance, nutro, and others. Ask a pet store assosciate or your vet to help you pick the best food for your growing puppy.
