Q. We found a tick on my dog and removed it with tweezers and disinfected the area. Now she has a bump in that spot. Is this normal?
A. I wouldn't say it's normal, but it shouldn't be anything serious either.
Removing a tick properly isn't easy, so your dog may still have the tick's head stuck under her skin. Additionally, the area could be infected or your dog could be experiencing a cutaneous reaction.
I suggest you monitor the bump for the next one or two days and take her to your vet for examination if you appreciate no signs of improvement.
